Anyone Else With My Problem?

I have one major issue. Whatever I pull out to eat, my children decide to come"share" it with me. Sometimes I really think I eat double not really knowing how much I've eaten. It is really one of the most frustrating issues for me. I know you may be thinking I just need to tell them no, but it just isn't that easy. My kids much prefer my healthy foods, so I don't mind sharing.

Oh well. I'm trying to learn to be healthy with the life I have. This is just another little challenge I have to overcome. any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I did get to work out again last night. I have decided it may never get easier, but I am definitely enjoying it! Steve is the kindest, yet toughest, trainer. Sometimes I think his kindness tricks me into being okay with him increasing the speed or incline on the treadmill. I'm relishing these moments I love working out, because I know every day won't feel "fun". However, the results sure are going to be worth it!

  1. My problem is that I eat a few bits of Belle's snack but then decide I want something different for my own. In reality I end up eating two snacks and still not being very satisfied. Mindless snacking is my pitfall.

  2. You know we have talked about this before. Molly always takes my meal away from me, then I start to eat something else. Then she decides she needs some of that as well. Before I know it, I have started my meal four different times. I think I am only going to allow myself one "do over" from now on. In theory, I will have completed my meal with the two half dinners...Lets see if I stick with that plan. But the snacking with the kids is what really kills me as well.

  3. My trio does this to me, too. What I do is but a tad more than a regular serving on my plate and I do let them share but I limit them. I just explain that Mommy needs to eat and be healthy, too. Then when we are done I don't re-fill my plate. That way I know that I haven't overeaten. If anything, I've under-eaten a bit.
Good luck on this journey! I'm hoping to get a personal trainer sometime soon, too. Steve sounds great. Maybe I'll have to find out if he comes to Decatur!

  4. Yes!!! I struggle with not wanting to waste their leftovers so I'll swipe their crusts or something off their plates while cleaning up. I've learned to just let it go or put it in a Baggie and offer it to them when I hear, "I'm hungry" in the next 2 hours. They like to eat off my plate too so I'll fix them their separate plate and we can eat side by side. I feel like I'm doing a poor job at teaching sharing but then again, we've got plenty of opportunities to teach that in non-food situations! :)
